A Dynasty
A suggestion that “the heads are seven successive dynasties” can be found in Sir Isaac Newton’s Daniel and the Apocalypse. The seven dynasties of the Roman Empire are listed here. The ten dynasties of Islam are listed here. Both are a fit with history. The Byzantine Empire started with the fifth dynasty of Rome and ended with the tenth dynasty of Islam.

A Horn of Plenty
A connection to Daniel. The “ten horns” of the fourth beast of Daniel are tied to the second beast of the Apocalypse. The ten dynasties of Islam must be consistent with Daniel as well as with the Apocalypse. They are. They fit. The source, Islamicart, is no longer available but a hard copy of it has been saved.

A Teaching Technique
A recapitulation, a theory first introduced by Victorinus which holds visions in the Apocalypse are repeated and are not necessarily in chronological order. Like the lie, the truth must be repeated to avoid misinterpretation. The chapters of the Apocalypse are not in chronological order.
A Sea of Marmara
A Greek fire on the Sea of Marmara, which was like a sheet of glass is a good fit with “a sea of glass mingled with fire”. Constantinople used Greek fire on the Sea of Marmara against the Islamic attack. The year was 666. Historians will never agree on this date but Gibbon got real close to it.

A Reliable Connection
A prophecy fulfilled with history. Only history can confirm the fulfillment of prophecy. Only numbers can reliably connect history to prophecy. All the bible translators agree on numbers and colors. You can’t trust interpretation. Only numbers and colors. Use them.
A Julian Calendar
A Hijri marked the beginning of Islam in 622 of the Gregorian calendar which didn’t start until 1582. Before that, the Julian calendar was in effect. The common year, 44 BC, has the Hijri in 666 of the Julian calendar. Most bible translations calculate this number. A sea of glass mingled with fire is an interesting fit.

A number to connect them. You can trust numbers. Interpretation not so much. We have way too many bible versions because translators can’t agree on the Word of God. Somehow they all agree on the numbers. Use them and history to confirm the fulfillment of prophecy.
A Problem with Dates
A history of Rome by Gibbon. Go ahead, pick an Islamic calendar converter and put 46 in it. You get 666. 46 is the number Gibbon used. 46 years after the Hijri year Constantinople was attacked. A date is a mark. Gibbon notes the problems with dates. There are other ways to get to 666. Stay tuned.

A Year
A date, a beginning, a start, a mark. Nearly every product sold today has a date marking its beginning. The word “number” in Daniel refers to years. Historians are good at ignoring what may have happened in the year 666 but we do know Islam was getting ready to attack Constantinople about that time.
