A List Of Five –
A thinker. Four more? Short posts. Is that long enough? Routine. Driving. One more? Short lists.

A Vulgate –
A canon that included the Apocalypse. Before Chrysostom, Jerome, and Augustine, it was not clear if the Apocalypse belonged in the bible. At the beginning of the fifth century these three were major players in the Church and the bible was being defined. It is clear now. Thank you Jerome.

A Fit with Daniel 11 –
A fit with the Apocalypse and Matthew:
Mohammed, the king of south
Fatimah, his daughter
Muawiyah, his commander, the king of the north
Abd Allah ibn Mas’ada al-Fazari, a raiser of taxes
Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan, placed the abomination that maketh desolate
What is in the holy place now?

A Better Listener –
A suggestion from my father. Don’t forget to listen. He knew me well. I spent too much time thinking about what I was going to say. It is time to listen.

A Sign In The Sky –
A suggestion that John Chrysostom wrote the Apocalypse 30 September 395. Made by Nikolai Alexandrovich Morozov, an astronomer, according to R. H. Charles in his book, “Studies in the Apocalypse: Being Lectures Delivered before the University of London”. A book worth reading.

A Fit With Numbers –
A thousand year empire starting with the seven dynasties of the Roman Empire and ending with the tenth dynasty of Islam. The first beast, Rome, whose deadly wound was healed was replaced by the second beast Islam. The Byzantine Empire fits with all the numbers you can trust. You can’t trust interpretation of prophecy.

A Night Person –
A good marriage. We all need time alone to think. She is a night person. Lucky me.

A Third John –
A patriarch was in Ephesus replacing seven corrupt bishops. At the time five of the seven dynasties of the Roman Empire had already fallen and Jerome was finishing the Vulgate. He may have needed a reliable copy of the Apocalypse to translate. John Chrysostom was someone you could trust.

A Mystery –
A misinterpretation. Even Peter knew he was in Babylon. Some are still looking for his bones south of Baghdad. That is the real mystery but Rome having seven hills was never a mystery. The seven hills of Constantinople is still a mystery and likely to remain so. It will never fit with their narrative.

A Good Thing –
A moderation. An efficient way to get the necessary nutrients. For me it is hamburger and chicken two or three times a week. I also believe in abstaining from meat at least once a week. Like on Friday. Like some kind of fish. Like tuna.
