A rider of the red horse with power to take peace from the earth. He was also given the key of the bottomless pit – Sebeos may have been the first to see Islam as the true fourth beast of Daniel. Others like Tom Holland “In The Shadow of The Sword” would recognize this. There is something about the Temple that makes a beast a beast.

John Chrysostom, a third john and a brother, was in Ephesus at the beginning of the fifth century when Jerome was finishing the Vulgate, the official bible of the Church.

A desolation. Babylon destroyed the first temple. Greece desecrated the second. Rome destroyed the second. Islam is preventing the third. The four beasts of Daniel. They all messed with the temple. That is what determines a beast in the mind of Daniel. John seems to agree. Jesus mentioned it. What is in the holy place now? The Dome of the Rock.

A leopard. A connection with the beasts of Daniel. John knows Daniel knows beasts. Also in common are the ten horns. John’s beast was like a leopard, a bear, and a lion. Daniel is the key to understanding the beasts of the Apocalypse. What do the beasts of Daniel have in common? The Temple. Don’t mess with the Temple. This is new.

A commentary by Victorinus on the Apocalypse. He mentions the seven churches that Paul wrote to but not the ones John wrote to. Eusebius has the same problem. He mentions six of the seven churches of the Apocalypse but never associates any of them with the Apocalypse. Is there a reasonable explanation for this?
