a number of failures

A Success Not Clear –

A time to think about what is not working. Still looking for what might be considered a success. A little success at looking for what might be true. A little success at posting the results of my research. A little success with forum dialogues. Finally a little success at finding something I really enjoy.

A Beginning of An Autobiography –

A thinker who took the time to make sense of what he saw. He didn’t listen because he didn’t like what he was hearing. That is the way I would like to be remembered. It had to make sense and I would keep thinking until it did. Socrates would ask questions and believed you could learn something from anyone you had a dialogue with. Let’s talk.

a necessary thing

A Life Without It –

A need like air, water, and food? I’m thinking. My bike, my coffee pot. my egg pod, my rocking chair, my pipe, my beer, my computer. I’m thinking. When I take a trip, I have to bring beer, a cooler, and a koozie. That’s three.

a layoff

A Job Loss –

A time to reflect on net worth. Right after someone tells you they don’t need you, you have to convince someone else that they do. You have to ask for help. You learn to depend on others. You learn to appreciate others. A lot to think about and a lot of time to do it.

a fate/destiny

A Word Not Used –

A consequence of what we do can’t be ignored. Other things do happen and how or why is not important. What we do about it is. It is a waste of time wondering about what fate/destiny is. Just deal with it and move on.

a phase in life

A Difficult Place To Leave –

A short stay in New England. We were a young family. There was so much to see and do and we did it together. Work forces the move. Will always be grateful for the time spent there and would like to go back.

a wannabe for a day

A Who And A Why –

A tough one. To make a change or gain some insight?? If a dancer and I could dance and keep some of that skill, I would go with that. Otherwise I would want to gain some insight. That would be someone younger than the pope or the president. Like JD Vance.

Daily writing prompt

a run for congress

A Most Ambitious DIY Project –

A futile attempt. Never had a chance. My favorite part was standing on the corner handing out my 16 page pamphlet with my position on the issues. It was called a comic book but I got a chance to talk to a lot of interesting people. Just getting my name on the ballot was a major accomplishment. Preparing the ‘comic book’ and mailing it out was fun.

Daily writing prompt
Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.

a word

A Ban –

A permanent ban on the word ban. Think about free speech. Think about who decides what to ban. Only the lie needs protection. Truth will prevail because somehow it makes sense. Take time to think. And that’s the truth.

Daily writing prompt
If you could permanently ban a word from general usage, which one would it be? Why?

a challenge

A Challenged Person –

A senior problem. Taxes. Doctor. Driving. Reunion. Everything is a challenge when you are over 80. The biggest one will most likely be some kind of change I will face in the next six months. Can we go six months without a change? How about a month?
