a complaint

A Negative Reaction –

A lack of sunshine. A lack of truth. Censorship. A lack of thinking. Complaining. Corruption. Thinking about what I complain about the most. An inability to stop complaining.

Daily writing prompt
What do you complain about the most?

a favorite sport

A Team Sport –

A sport, with eleven positions, football is the only real team sport. With each play 22 players must make a split second decision on what to do. Most can only watch. Very few get to play. Nearly everyone gets to play basketball. All you need is two players, a ball, and a basket.

a history book

A Record Of What Was –

A future that is unknown. Only history can be trusted. Everything else is fiction or someone’s fantasy. Historians police themselves. They all look at the same records and check to see if they are consistent with other records. History helps us understand what works and what doesn’t in books that you want to read if you want to know.

a family tradition

A Reunion –

A time to get together. We now have Zoom reunions. We are so far apart in every way. We have to be careful of what we talk about. The family ties are stronger than the differences we have created. We have to remember what we have in common.

Daily writing prompt

A beer in my rocking chair on my porch watching the world go by. This includes checking to see what plants need to be moved, replaced, watered, trimmed, etc.

A Place With Animals –

A sad place to visit. Animals should be free. Free to think if they can. Free to speak if they will. Don’t fence me in. Let me wander and let me talk about it. Freedom is an attraction to visit whenever you can.

Daily writing prompt
Name an attraction or town close to home that you still haven’t got around to visiting.

a doubter

A Thinker –

A reason to believe. Thomas proved that faith was reasonable. Augustine proved that without faith there is no reason. Some need proof. Others are satisfied with knowing or believing that there must be a reason. All you have to do is look for it.

Daily writing prompt
Write about your first name: its meaning, significance, etymology, etc.

a dream job

A Dreamer –

A taste of heaven in a dream. Too often my dreams were about my job. Not a good thing. Now not so much and look forward to my dreams. My job is to dream the impossible dream.
