A Meaning
A reason to live. It’s a test that you must overcometh. Can you be trusted? That is the question. Suffering is a major part of the test. What will you do about it? It could be your suffering or that of others. What you do about it is paramount. Heal your soul and their body.
A Reason to Believe
A blessing for “he that hath an ear”. A promise for he that overcometh. Not being hurt by the second death must be the most important. There is little agreement as to what the second death means. The death of the soul should be the primary consideration. Fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

A Number of Years
A reign with Christ. There is only one Christian empire where they reigned with Christ a thousand years. You won’t find “reign of Christ” in the bible. It can be found close to 8 million times on the internet. “Reigning with Christ” has been turned into “reign of Christ” which is a serious misinterpretation of the bible.
A Fulfillment of Prophecy
A connection with numbers that can be trusted. Your interpretation, not so much. Translators can’t be trusted but somehow they get the numbers right. If you have an ear, listen to what numbers and history can tell you. It is the only way the fulfillment of prophecy can be confirmed. Anything else is just someone’s interpretation.

A Color
A reliable clue tying history to prophecy. You can’t rely on anyone’s interpretation. You can’t rely on bible translations. There are over 60 different English translations. Do you have time to look at the differences? Who or what can you trust? Somehow they all agree on numbers and colors. It is a place to start.
A Sea
A location. The Red Sea and Black Sea are easy fits. The White Sea, not so much but the Mediterranean Sea aka the white sea can be a fit if you know what a bow is. A rainbow, a covenant based on Genesis 9:13. This points to Constantine, the third most significant person whoever lived. The rider of the white horse. –
A Great City
A capital of an empire that lasted a thousand years. Constantinople is Babylon the Great. The Byzantine Empire lasted a thousand years and its capital was Constantinople. At the start there were the seven dynasties of the Roman Empire. At the end there was the tenth dynasty of Islam. All the pieces fit.

A Storm and Thunder
A Russian astronomer claimed John Chrysostom wrote the Apocalypse in 395 based on astronomy. This John was in Ephesus at the beginning of 401. He could have said, “there are seven kings: five are fallen.” At the time, five of the seven dynasties of the Roman Empire had fallen. Really.

A Brother on Patmos
A third John who was in Ephesus when Jerome was finishing his Vulgate that included the Apocalypse. At the time it was not clear if it would be. Jerome had to be convinced that it was written by the Apostle. John Chrysostom was in Ephesus replacing seven bishops at the beginning of the fifth century.

A Prophecy Again
A little book eaten by John the Apostle who added the seven churches. He was told to prophesy again. Followers of John the Baptist were found in Ephesus by Paul in Acts 19. This is a reasonable explanation of why John uses his name three times in the first chapter of the Apocalypse. Three different Johns.
