A Revelation
of what has not been understood. Revealed or exposed. Truth is revealed and corruption is exposed. Both are necessary. Corruption is dividing the Church and not its exposure. This is a test to see who really loves the Church.
A Great Bishop
at the end of the fourth century. The people loved John. Those in power not so much. It was suggested that the break between east and west started with John Chrysostom who found himself it a very difficult position. He recognized the authority of Rome.
A Major Player
in the 4th century and we have the letters to prove it. Pope Damasus I asked Jerome for a new translation of the Bible and Augustine was upset about that. There were already way too many versions of the Bible with way too many errors and according to Augustine the last thing they needed was another version of the Bible. Jerome was not intimidated. His Vulgate would become the official Bible of the Church when they needed it the most.

A Smaller Church
is necessary to protect the Truth. Who can be saved without a place to go to find the Truth. Mercy mercy mercy will save no one who hasn’t repented. Who hasn’t admitted to being wrong. You should have known but made no effort to find the Truth, the Way, and Life.
A Famous Clue
that often goes unnoticed. What the early fathers of the Church wrote has been extensively studied but what has been overlooked is what the early fathers overlooked. A good example of this is Eusebius who was obsessed with martyrs didn’t mention Antipas in Chuch History. Martyrs from Pergamus are not missing, Carpus and Papylus, and a woman named Agathonice are mentioned as martyrs in Pergamus but not Antipas. Who has tried to explain this?

A Cottage Industry
that goes beyond home bible studies. It uses private interpretation of ambiguous phases in prophecy to support a particular agenda. It ignores two thousand years of history simply because it doesn’t fit with preconceived interpretations. History is the only advantage we have over the early fathers of the Church so why not use it? How can we use prophecy to search history without first interpreting it? Numbers. Numbers and possibly colors don’t require interpretation. Start with numbers. Big numbers like a thousand.

A Reliable Test
that is hard to beat. It is why we are here. The purpose of life. The meaning of life. It’s a test. Suffering is a necessary part of it. What will you do about suffering? What will you do when you are suffering? You will need help. Just ask for it. You have to want it. You will get it.

to do. We are being tested. We should test what affects our life. Be sure to test those who come in sheep’s clothing. They could be ravening wolves. Like a virus that can kill those we love. Be not afraid. Be careful. Be kind. Be reasonable.
A Wise Man
and those with common sense will follow the traditions of those who have gone before us. We have standards developed by others that show us what works. You don’t need to start at the beginning. New designs are doomed to failure without extensive testing. We are being tested. Be sure to test those who might mislead us. Traditions and standards have passed the test of time.
