A Dog That Didn’t Bark –

A commentary by Victorinus on the Apocalypse.  He mentions the seven churches that Paul wrote to but not the ones John wrote to.  Eusebius has the same problem.  He  mentions six of the seven churches of the Apocalypse but never associates any of them with the Apocalypse. Is there a reasonable explanation for this?

a last live performance

A Long Time Ago –

A guess. A local bluegrass band at the library?  A country western dance with a live band just a few years ago. It was the best. An 80 year old danced with his wife, daughter, granddaughter, and daughter in law. A night to remember.

a revelation

A Difficult Command –

A victim to be protected.  Can you allow the filthy to be filthy and still be righteous?  Not if there are victims.  The silence must end.  Expose the filth.  Protect the vulnerable.  Predators should not get a second chance. Protect the child. Not the predator. They can’t be trusted. Let the children come.

a number

A Year –

A date, a beginning, a start, a mark.  Nearly every product sold today has a date marking its beginning.  The word “number” in Daniel refers to years.  Historians are good at ignoring what may have happened in the year 666 but we do know Islam was getting ready to attack Constantinople about that time.

a newspaper editor

A Job For One Day –

A chance to determine what news story goes on the front page and above the fold. The headline. Lead with good news and follow it up with the bad. I would fire the one with the most dishonest story. That might be the good news.
