Daniel

A Fit

with John when it comes to beasts.  The “ten horns” is not the only connection.  The beast John saw was like a leopard just like Daniel’s third beast.  It was also like a bear just like Daniel’s second beast.  It was also like a lion just like Daniel’s first beast.  The last two beasts of Daniel are the two beasts of the Apocalypse.  Another connection. Another fit.

ten horns

A Connection

with Daniel.  Just search the bible for “ten horns” and the fourth beast of Daniel is tied to the second beast of John in chapters 12, 13, and 17 of the Apocalypse. This connection to Daniel can help us identify the beasts which may be easier than identifying the ten horns and the seven heads.  What would the beasts of Daniel have in common with the beasts of John?

too many beasts

A Problem

for some Bible versions.  As many as 296 in the KJV and as little as 87 in the NIV.  How many does your version have?  Granted what makes a beast a beast is not well defined but words are.  So it looks like translators are interpreting as well as translating.  Who can you trust?

a beast

A He Or An It

is not clear with all the Bible versions.  It should be.  Why can’t the translators agree on something this simple?  Who can we trust?  There are 20 translations that consider the beast in Revelation 13:1 a he and 37 translations call it an it.  This is a significant difference.  Daniel 7:7 can help us here.  The fourth beast is an it in all 52 translations.  It has “ten horns” just like the beast in Revelation.  If your translation has a he for a beast, you are being misled.

the four beasts

A Temple

will make.  Daniel 7 has four beasts.  There are so many to choose from so how did he come up with these?  How did the interpreters identify them?  Jesus gives us a great clue by mentioning the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel.  If you Google ‘abomination of desolation’, Wikipedia shows three possibilities; Antiochus IV Epiphanes in 167 BC, Titus in 70 AD, and Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan in 691 AD.  The only missing one is Babylon and the first Temple.  So we have Babylon destroying the first Temple, Greece desecrating the second, Rome destroying the second, and Islam preventing the third.  It fits.

‘ten horns’

A Direct Connection

between Daniel and the Apocalypse.  The last beast of Dainiel and the second beast of the Apocalypse both have ‘ten horns’.   And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion.  The beast of John was like a lion, the first beast of Daniel, like a bear, the second beast of Daniel, like a leopard, the third beast of Daniel, and it had ten horns like the fourth beast of Daniel.  There should be no doubt that the two beasts of John are the last two beasts of Daniel.
