A Year In History
A historian named John Julius Norwich gets 666 in his book “Byzantium” with a calculation. “The ensuing strife continued until 661, when Ali’s own assassination left Muawiya supreme. For the next five years the Muslim world would be in ferment – and Byzantium could breath again.”
A Recognition Of Prophecy In History
A reliable connection. Just as years are attached to the number thousand we look for what is attached to each number. If you search Daniel for the word number, you will see that it is also attached to years. What happened in the year 666 is a reasonable question.
A Prophecy Fulfilled In History
A connection with numbers. There is only one empire that lasted a thousand years and it was a Christian empire where they “reigned with Christ”. You won’t find “Reign of Christ” in the bible. Only on the internet. Look for 666, ten horns, and seven heads.
A Number
A bible translation to be trusted. There are 60 English bible translations with many revisions and many differences but somehow they all get the numbers and colors right. It may be the only way to reliably connect prophecy and history. Only history can confirm the fulfillment of prophecy.
A Rider Named Death
A power to kill. A Pale of Settlement that looks like Ukraine. A Sea of Azov that looks like a pale sea. A fourth of the world. Another number nearly all the bible translations got right. Just like the colors. Numbers and colors can be trusted to connect prophecy and history.
A peace taken from the earth. Mohammed is the rider from the Red Sea. History records the violence of Islam. The second most significant person to ever live must also be considered the antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. The “ten dynasties of Islam” are the “ten horns” connecting Daniel and the Apocalypse.

A fulfillment of prophecy in history connected by numbers and colors. You can’t trust your bible translation or your interpretation. We have 60 different English translations with many revisions that don’t agree but somehow they get the numbers and colors right.
A Sixth Dynasty
A time when “five are fallen” and the “Valentinianic dynasty” was the sixth dynasty of Rome, Chrysostom was in Ephesus. Whether or not you can count dynasties or kings of the Roman Empire, you can agree it was a beast, one of the four beasts of Daniel. Seven dynasties have been clearly identified by historians.
A commentary by Victorinus does not mention the seven churches of the Apocalypse but does mention the churches Paul wrote to. It is possible that he and Eusebius had an early version of the Apocalypse that did not contain the seven churches. History helps us understand what is possible.
A History Of Interpretation
A hijack of the Apocalypse. How does a commentator become a prophet? Simply by interpreting the Word of God. Historians are less likely to have an agenda which makes them more trustworthy and possibly inspired by God. History can be used to interpret prophecy but only after it has been fulfilled.
