A Servant Named John
A pure river of water of life. The revelation is not so clear. Where is clear. Who, when, what and why are not clear at all. John? Three times he identifies himself as John. The same John? Consider three different Johns. John the Baptist, John the Apostle, and John Chrysostom have all been considered.

A blessing for reading and hearing this prophecy. It must shortly come to pass. The first coming. Not the second. John the Baptist was preparing the way. John the Apostle knew this when he wrote to the seven churches. John Chrysostom, your brother, knew that when he was in Ephesus and Jerome was finishing the Vulgate.

A servant named John. Named three times. The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants. That’s plural. There are three different Johns. The Baptist, the Apostle, and the Chrysostom. A reasonable explanation.
A Lamb of God
A voice crying is the wilderness. The word “lamb” is mentioned 27 times in the Apocalypse. John the Baptist knew the “Lamb of God”. He was preparing the way for “the time is at hand”. John the Baptist did not know Jesus was the Lamb of God. John the Apostle knew that and was also aware of his following.

A purely Jewish composition if you take away the churches and the name of Jesus, which is mentioned only 12 times. Lamb is mentioned 27 times. John the Baptist knew the Lamb of God. John the Apostle knew that. He also knew Jesus and the churches. He also knew about the followers of the Baptist in Ephesus.

A purpose was to prepare the way for the first coming. John the Baptist was to introduce the Lamb of God to the world. The word “lamb” can be found 27 times in the Apocalypse. “Jesus” only 12 times. The word “Jesus” could have been added later by John the Apostle who knows John the Baptist knows the Lamb of God.

A second John who knew the seven churches which are in Asia. If Paul found followers of John the Baptist in Ephesus, so did John the Apostle who would write to the seven churches adding Jesus to what was originally written by John the Baptist.

A kingdom at hand. The time was near. John the Baptist knew the Lamb, a word used 27 times in the Apocalypse. He wrote the first one. Later John the apostle added Jesus and the seven churches. He knew about the followers of John the Baptist in Ephesus. There must be a third John.

A confirmation that the apostle wrote the Apocalypse was necessary to get it in the Bible which was being translated and defined by Jerome. Just before the Vulgate was completed John Chrysostom was in Ephesus replacing seven corrupt bishops. Jerome needed a reliable version of the Apocalypse.
