A Fit With Daniel
A king of the south, Mohammed, and his daughter, Fatimah, along with one of his commanders, Muawiyah, who will become even stronger is a good fit with Daniel. Some of the bibles use the word princes (25) instead of the more believable words like commanders (11) as we shall see in a following post.

A necessary ingredient. Look to Daniel to validate any interpretation of the Apocalypse. It must fit and that includes the king of the south, his daughter, and one of his commanders who is not a prince. Mohammed, his daughter Fatima, and Mu’awiya I who would be the king of the north are all good fits.

Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan, a caliph of the Umayyad dynasty started by Muawiyah and a raiser of taxes, built the Dome of the Rock which is the abomination spoken of by Daniel.

A Translation Problem
A commander or another interpretation problem if you are looking for the king of the north. There are eight different words in 52 different translations: princes 24, commanders 10, officers 7, officials 5, generals 2, leaders 2, principalities 1, subordinates 1. The word prince suggests a family member unlike the other seven words which have a similar meaning. Makes you wonder about words used in other parts of the bible. These are major differences in words used before you get to the problem of interpreting them. Reader beware.
