A Brother on Patmos 

A third John who was in Ephesus when Jerome was finishing his Vulgate that included the Apocalypse.  At the time it was not clear if it would be.  Jerome had to be convinced that it was written by the Apostle.  John Chrysostom was in Ephesus replacing seven bishops at the beginning of the fifth century.

A Time 

A writer.  It was written by John on Patmos.  Don’t know when or which John.  Are there three of them?  Why does John introduce himself three or four times?  These questions have not been answered so we are forced to speculate based on what was written by those who read what no longer exists.

A Fact 

that demands some kind of explanation.  Have you heard one?  Probably not.  A reasonable explanation is there were three different Johns connected with the Apocalypse.  John the Baptist, John the Apostle, and John Chrysostom.  It fits with history.  Really.
