Others had already suggested multiple writers. “Studies in the Apocalypse” by R. H. Charles suggests it was first written in Hebrew and later translated into Greek.

A final chapter. These sayings are faithful and true. The translators not so much. They couldn’t agree so we have 60 different English translations with many more revisions. Lord, to whom shall we go? Good question Peter. Not everyone has been properly inspired so some of us must rely on numbers and maybe colors. This is where the translators actually agree.
