A Dreamer –
A taste of heaven in a dream. Too often my dreams were about my job. Not a good thing. Now not so much and look forward to my dreams. My job is to dream the impossible dream.

A Number of Events –
A person with wisdom and courage will not necessarily become a leader. It takes a conflict and a strong desire to resolve it.
A Violation of Privacy –
A lack of freedom. Mark Twain got it right. The phone belongs in the closet. “Don’t call me, I’ll call you”. Better yet. Don’t let it ring and allow texting only. Going on vacation with a smart phone is really dumb. Just un-invent the ringer.
A Feeling of Being Loved –
A mother. A saint. She picked up old ladies walking on the side of the road. They went grocery shopping together. They had tea together and I got to witness this in a dark smelly house. How do you forget something like that?
A Place To Start The Reduction –
A source is the mailbox. The paper just keeps coming and it stacks up because you’re not ready to do something about it. That includes my bank statement which includes $0.07 tax withholding. When I go online, my checking account is blocked until I fill out a tax withholding form which includes an agreement to go paperless. They don’t need my permission to withhold 7 cents every month or to block my online statement but they do need my permission to go paperless which now is my only access. Thank you USAA.
A Dumb Phone –
A T9 typing challenge. They just want to know if I’m okay, if I made it home. A pre-recorded text called a template takes care of that. Still must practice typing with only nine keys. Texting is great even if you are not hard of hearing. A small dumb phone for an old man who would never have a smart one.
A Drive Through The Night –
A car full of teenagers. I was the oldest and the only male. My sister couldn’t come home from college so I got to take our sister, two cousins, and a friend to visit her. That’s four girls. A lot of responsibility for someone so young. It was spring break in Fort Lauderdale and I got into the Elbow Room with someone else’s ID. That’s memorable.
A Chocolate Chip Cookie –
A black coffee with no sugar. A good way to start the day. A good chance to talk about coffee. Colombian coffee without a noisy grinder but with a five dollar, five cup Mr. Coffee maker and distilled water. I have to be careful to leave her two cups. All I need now is something to talk about.
A Stupid Post –
A world on fire. The flood was bad enough. A going out of business sale. A significant reduction in the price of truth. Now everyone can afford it for the first time. While supplies last. Get yours before we run out of it.
A Time To Reflect –
A slow death. Having already exceeded life expectancy, you have to avoid doctors who want to fix it even though you are not suffering. More doctor visits, more tests, more procedures that don’t sound as scary as an operation, etc. No thank you.
