The visions of John cannot be understood to be in chronological order. Each vision should be considered independent of the others. Some are a repetition of others. Recapitulation is a necessary tool in understanding the Apocalypse.

It is now a significant war zone that could lead to a nuclear confrontation. It could also be a sign of things to come. Come Lord Jesus.

A reference to years. What happened in the year 666? What calendar do you use? What calendar was in effect? John understood Daniel. Daniel understood by books the number of the years. John sends us to the Old Testament for clues. John understood by books. John understood the Lamb of God and lamb is found 27 times in the Apocalypse.

A Black Sea –
A pair of balances in his hand. Communism from the Black Sea, a great threat to religion, was started by Marx, the rider of the black horse. Marxism is still a major threat to freedom. It has found its way inside the Church. Call it climate change. Call it racism. It is a lie. It must be repeated. It must block the truth. Call that censorism.

A Julian Calendar –
A beginning in 44 BC. 622 in the Gregorian calendar, which began in 1582, was the beginning of the Islamic calendar. 666 in the Julian calendar marked the start of Islam. A number in Daniel 9:2 refers to the number of years. That is what Daniel understood by books. A calendar conversion requires a calculation.

A Red Sea –
A great sword and power to take peace from the earth. Mohammed, the antichrist and the father of the second beast from the Red Sea is the rider of the red horse. History records the wars against the saints. The ten horns are the ten Islamic dynasties. The ten horns also connect Daniel.

A problem with dates. Gibbon gets real close. Go ahead, pick an Islamic calendar converter and put 46 in it. You get 666. 46 is the number Gibbon used. 46 years after the Hijri year Constantinople was attacked. A date is a mark. Gibbon notes the problems with dates. More versions calculate the number 666.

A White Horse –
A bow in the hand of the rider. A covenant with God not unlike the bow in Genesis 9:13. Constantine was from the Aegean or Mediterranean aka the white sea by the Turks and he made the world safe for Christians. The color of the sea and the color of the horse is telling, especially with the Red Sea and the Black Sea.

A year. A mark. A beginning. On your mark, get set, go. A date is the most common mark there is. Nearly all products have it. 666 marks the beginning of Islam. It also marks the attack on Constantinople. Revelation 15:2 ties Greek fire, the Sea of Marmara, and the year Islam attacked Constantinople. – 666 – Really.

A Beast That Was Not –
A beast that is yet to come. From a Christian point of view, the Roman Empire with seven dynasties was a beast until Constantine made the world safe for them. It wasn’t long before a different kind of beast came along to take peace from the world. Islam with ten dynasties. A beast that was diverse from all the others.
