A Julian calendar starting in 44 BC would have the Hijra of 622 starting in 666. Gibbon has the attack on Constantinople starting 46 years after the Hijra. Put 46 in an Islamic calendar converter and you will get 666. A calculation in most translations, not a count. Daniel has number of the years. That is where you get a clue.

There could be an exception. One was diverse from all the beasts that were before it. How do we identify a beast?
