a good neighbor

A Necessary Ingredient –

A watcher who cares. Picks up the newspaper when you are gone. Will not allow their dog on your lawn. Will not leave their garbage can out on the street. Will wave when they see you. Will not leave their garage door open. Will put their car in the garage. Little things mean a lot.

What makes a good neighbor?

a first time you really felt like a grown up

A Great Question –

A second grade situation. My sister was in kindergarten and for some reason a nun asked me to walk her home which was almost a mile. I had two older brothers in school and don’t know why they weren’t asked. On the way a car stopped to offer us a ride. My sister ran from the car. I hesitated to see if I could recognize the driver and ran toward my sister when I didn’t.

When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?

a million dollars to give away

A Recipient To Receive It –

A charity that is not involved with social justice. Is it possible? I think not. A credit union may be the best way to get money to those who need it but are not just looking for a handout. I would give it to those who won’t just give it away but will loan it to those who need it.

If you had a million dollars to give away, who would you give it to?

a favorite artist

A Beautiful Creation –

A sight or sound. A musical. Song and dance. Gilbert and Sullivan for The Pirates of Penzance. Andrew Loyd Weber for so many great musicals. The most beautiful thing I ever read? “To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die.” by Thomas Campbell.
