A Dynasty –
A suggestion that “the heads are seven successive dynasties” can be found in Sir Isaac Newton’s Daniel and the Apocalypse. The seven dynasties of the Roman Empire are listed here. The ten dynasties of Islam are listed here. Both are a fit with history. The Byzantine Empire started with the fifth dynasty of Rome and ended with the tenth dynasty of Islam.

A Translation Issue –
A beast. Your bible could have as many as 296 beasts or as few as 87. There are 20 translations that consider the beast in Revelation 13:1 a ‘he’ and 37 translations call it an ‘it’. This is a significant difference. Daniel 7:7 can help us here. The fourth beast is an it in all 52 translations. It has ten horns just like the beast in Revelation.

A Horn Of Plenty –
A connection to Daniel. The “ten horns” of the fourth beast of Daniel are tied to the second beast of the Apocalypse. A hatred of the whore. Constantinople, Babylon the Great, fell to the tenth dynasty of Islam in 1453. This ended a thousand year Christian empire that started with the seven dynasties of the Roman Empire. Behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. The “ten horns” ties the fourth beast of Daniel to the second beast of John.

A Great Sultan –
A fit with Daniel. Saladin came out of the Fatimid Caliphate, the fourth of ten Islamic dynasties, and would start the fifth, the Ayyubid dynasty. We also have the Battle of the Horns of Hama and the Battle of the Horns of Hattin. Saladin was involved in both of them. He not only beat the crusaders, he beat Richard the Lionheart. It’s a fit.

A desolation. What is in the holy place now? The Dome of the Rock is preventing the third temple and that makes Islam a beast different from all the others. The “ten horns” are the ten dynasties of Islam. Counted by Islamic sources. The Ottoman Empire, the tenth dynasty, ended the thousand year Christian empire, The Byzantine Empire, in 1453.

A reign with Christ. The Byzantine Empire was a Christian empire that lasted a thousand years when they reigned with Christ. Does it fit with the other numbers: 666, ten horns, and seven heads? The number 666 is next. Daniel is a good place to look for clues. Does he know numbers?

Look for all the key numbers like a thousand, 666, ten, and seven. See if they fit. See if they make sense.
